Drive Image 2002 Error

Problem

Err5: Error finding VFLOPPY.SYS

Err8: Fake Floppy driver not found
Press any key to boot active Partition

Symptom

Computer boots from virtual floppy

This problem was likely due to an inadvertant shutdown of your computer while attempting to image a PC using Drive Image 2002.

Solution

Boot using a Windows 98 boot diskette, this should get you to an A: > prompt

A: > FDISK /MBR (enter this command)

CTRL-ALT-DELETE to reboot your PC (remove diskette right away after rebooting).

Notes

If you have remapped drives, the FDISK /MBR command may reset the drive mappings. If so, within Windows XP you’ll need to go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management. Right-mouse click on the drive that requires remapping and select “Change Drive Letter and Paths…”
